Each team chose its top four hitters to compete in the Chatham Invitational Tournament’s Homerun Derby. The players got to hit off a shortened field using a temporary home plate at the pitchers mound while their teammates and competitors hoped for the chance to field a ball in the outfield. A pitching machine fed by a Chatham coach provided the ammo for the players. Each competitor received two warm up pitches, and ten regular pitches, which they had to swing at.
