Sherrill to stop violence at Delaney Hall in Newark (whyy.org) — A North Plainfield resident joined about 60 protesters at the Trenton statehouse Monday, criticizing Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s response to violent clashes around Newark’s Delaney Hall immigrant detention center. Demonstrators, including immigrant-rights advocates, accuse state police and ICE of escalating force and urge Sherrill to use her authority to address alleged abuses and detainee complaints.
