3 Charged In Connection With Oakland Gas Station Robbery
Daniel Chaupiz, 25, conspired with 2 other people, Eric Trent and Krystle Runo to rob the Valero gas station in January, police said.

OAKLAND, NJ — Three people, including a borough man, were charged in connection with the armed robbery of the Valero gas station on Ramapo Valley Road in January, police announced Monday.
A man wearing dark clothing and a face mask Jan. 8 went up to the gas station attendant, brandished a handgun and fled the scene with "an undisclosed amount of cash" that he took from the counter, Lt. Chris Eldridge previously said.
An investigation revealed that the gas station attendant, Daniel Chaupiz, 25, of Oakland, conspired with Eric Trent, 28, of West Milford, and Krystle Runo, 29, of Stockholm, to orchestrate the robbery that Trent committed against Chaupiz, Eldridge said in a news release.

Runo was charged with being the getaway driver, the lieutenant said.
Trent and Runo were each charged with conspiracy to commit robbery. Trent was charged with theft.

Chaupiz was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, theft, falsely incriminating another, reporting a false public alarm and filing a false written statement.
Trent and Russo were processed and charged at the Passaic County Jail, where they are both serving time on unrelated charges, he said; Chaupiz was arrested and later released on his own recognizance.
