On Saturday June 27 (2PM-8PM) and Sunday June 28 (9AM-2PM), the Franklin Lakes Office of Emergency Management will host our annual ARRL 2026 Field Day event at the Emergency Operations Center (location: 745 Franklin Ave, Franklin Lakes, NJ - at the corner of Pulis Ave & Franklin Ave). This ARRL event involves thousands of radio operators across North America. It is a test of our ability to assemble and operate communications equipment in a crisis that has compromised normal communications mechanisms.
Please drop by for light refreshments in our air-conditioned venue to observe demonstrations of radio technology in the service of Emergency Communications. Amateur Radio is a combination of science, engineering, mathematics, technology - and fun - perfect for students who may aspire to STEM careers, and for adults with an interest in tech subjects.
Just prior to our 2PM event, from 10AM-2PM Saturday June 27, Franklin Lakes will hold its Franklin Lakes Farmers and Artisan Market in the same Veterans Plaza parking lot, an opportunity to shop and check out our radio event! Plenty of free parking withing steps of both events.
