Oakland Man Lied About Receiving $12K Rolex Watch: Police

The man told police that the watch was not delivered to him when in fact it was, police said.

OAKLAND, NJ — A borough resident was charged with filing a false police report after he told authorities that a Rolex watch worth $12,000 was never delivered to to his home, when it was, police said.

Detective Keith Docwra charged Jared Spingler, 35, Wednesday, said Lt. Christian Eldridge.

Spingler said UPS never delivered the watch to his home, but it was, Eldridge said.

Spingler was processed and released on his own recognizance. He'll be scheduled to appear in Oakland Municipal Court, Eldridge said.
