2 Flung From Boat In Early Morning Jersey Shore Crash
One of the boaters was found unresponsive in the water after the vessel struck a submerged object, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
CAPE MAY, NJ — Two were ejected from their boat early Wednesday morning after the vessel struck a submerged object, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
The Coast Guard received the call at 2:24 a.m. on Aug. 9, Coast Guard spokesperson Jonathan Lally told Patch.
The two occupants of the center console boat were flung into the water in the vicinity of Cape May Harbor, but one of them was able to make it back onto the vessel, Lally said. It wasn't immediately clear what exactly the boat had struck.

Crews got on scene and that boater was taken to EMS for injuries, but none were reported, Lally said.
The Coast Guard worked with Cape May Police and New Jersey State Police to find the other boater, who was discovered unresponsive in the water, Lally said.

The person in the water was also taken to EMS and Lally did not share any further information regarding the boater's current status.
The Coast Guard and New Jersey State Police are currently jointly investigating the incident and what exactly took place, Lally said.
