• N.Y. team proves too much for Holy Spirit in Battle at the Beach matchup (nj.com subscription) — Ocean City hosted the Battle at the Beach Football Classic, where Monsignor Farrell of Staten Island topped Holy Spirit 28–14 behind a strong passing attack. Local fans saw Holy Spirit flash early with a sack and interception, but the Spartans couldn't keep pace despite nearly 240 passing yards from their sophomore quarterback.
