2 Ocean City Contestants Set for Miss New Jersey Pageant

Ocean City, NJ -- Two Ocean City residents are competing in the Miss New Jersey Pageant, which takes place this week at the Music Pier.

Devon Vanderslice, 23, will compete after winning the Miss Cape May County Pageant. The West Chester University graduate is a talented tap dancer. Her platform is “Give Life a Second Chance.” She won the Miss Ocean City Pageant in 2012.

Myra McCann, 23, will compete after winning the Miss Eastern Shore Pageant. Her platform is “Making a Special Difference.” The St. Joseph University graduate will perform a lively Irish Dance.

Two other contestants come from neighboring towns.

Miss Cape Resort Devan Fogarty, 24, of Marmora, is an Ursinus graduate. Her platform is “Stand Up Against Bullying” and her talent is dance.

Miss Atlantic County Kennedy Stillman-Fath, 18, of Somers Point, is a graduate of Mainland High School.
She will showcase her singing talent. Her platform is “Youth and Alcohol, a Dangerous Mix.”

The winner of the Miss New Jersey Pageant represents the state in the Miss America Pageant.

The week kicks off with the Parade on the Boardwalk on Wednesday night, June 15, 7 p.m. The 30 contestants will “show their shoes.” The theme is “Miss New Jersey in Toyland.”

The event also features bands, floats and other entries.

The preliminary rounds take place on June 16 and 17, with the finals set for June 18.
