2nd ANNUAL GALA TO BENEFIT ABUSED ANIMALS

NJ Aid for Animals, an all-volunteer charity helping animals since 2005, will be hosting a gala to raise funds for abused and abandoned dogs and cats on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the Barclay Haines Estate (a private Victoria mansion in Hainesport, NJ). The gala, appropriately named “Just in Time,” to help those animals who are saved just in time with no advocate, was a resounding success last year.

When an abused dog was found in Camden, NJ in 2015, NJ Aid for Animals (NJAFA) stepped up “just in time” before the dog was scheduled to be put to sleep. Rescue partners at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital treated her and with generous donations received, the “Sweet Pea Fund” was inspired.

Sweet Pea survived despite open wounds all over her but remained true to her name: sweet. “We made a decision to start the Sweet Pea Fund to help animals, like her, caught in the crossfire of abuse and/or abandoned,” says Kathy McGuire, president, NJ Aid for Animals. “We hope the community will help come out and support this event to help raise funds for costly medical treatment to treat abused animals in our area.”

With the theme of Just in Time, entertainer Pete Cannella will be performing with songs from Frank Sinatra.

Lead sponsor is Merck Animal Health, along with other sponsors Mount Laurel Animal Hospital (where Sweet Pea was treated), Elanco, Country Pet Lodge and Salon, Officeware, LLC., and Essential Property Inspections.

Tickets for this semi-formal event are $100 purchased before May 20 ($125 after that date or at the door) which includes two cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dessert, dancing and entertainment.

Only a few high-end raffle items will be offered including a $1,200 gift certificate from Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery; a complimentary reading with world-famous astrologer Janet Amid and a chance to win YOUR DNA along with the DNA of your dog.

The venue is situated on a lake abundant with wildlife. Guests are encouraged to visit each room on the ground floor of the estate. Renowned animal communicator, Emerald DuCoeur, will be available from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, for a 10-minute session for $20. (Bring a photo or article of clothing/collar).
