34th Street Bridge In Ocean City To Close 1 More Time This Week

The bridge will then be fully reopened for the summer.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The 34th Street Bridge will close one final time this week, in preparation for the bridge’s full re-opening for the summer Thursday morning, city officials said this week. All lanes will close Wednesday night to allow work crews to remove the barriers on the bridge. It will be closed from 10 p.m. Wednesday night until 5 a.m. Thursday morning.

“It will be a relief to finally have both lanes back for the summer,” Mayor Jay Gillian said in his weekly update.

Drivers should seek alternate routes during the bridge closure Wednesday night. Both lanes of traffic will remain open through the summer. Work on the second phase of a two-year project to redeck the bridge will resume in the fall.
