5 In Cape May County Now Positive For Coronavirus
County officials pleaded for donations of gloves, masks and other protective gear.

CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ — Cape May County reported two new cases of the novel coronavirus Monday, bringing the county total up to five. The patients are a 71-year-old woman and 50-year-old man.
The county has not revealed the town(s) in which the patients live or have visited. A 30-year-old man visiting from New York City tested positive Wednesday to mark the county's first reported case.
Cape May County officials have not reported any deaths from the virus as of Monday evening.

County officials pleaded with the public to donate sealed boxes of gloves, masks and other personal protective equipment. The need for equipment to combat the virus has been widespread across the United States.

Cape May County expects their need for equipment to increase as testing becomes more widely available and more county residents test positive.
The County Office of Emergency Management would receive these donations. People who may be able to help should call ahead at 609-600-5055.

Murphy addressed enforcement of his stay-at-home order as New Jersey saw its biggest one-day spike in coronavirus cases on Monday. County prosecutors and the Office of Attorney General are now ready to go after people who violate his stay-at-home order, which he issued Saturday. They've added personnel to assist local law enforcement in securing the order.
"When we hear of people hosting parties and other gatherings, we will not take it lightly," Murphy said.
