6-Foot Shark Caught By Teens At Jersey Shore
It took the teens about an hour to reel it in.

Two teenage boys showed persistence pays off when they reeled in a “fish this big” in South Jersey. The boys snagged what turned out to be a 6-foot shark while fishing in Ventnor on Tuesday, Fox 29 reports.
They first got hold of the shark while standing on the pier but soon took their efforts to the beach. It took them about an hour to secure their catch.
Lifeguards waived the ban on fishing on the beach in this case. The video below was shot by Hannah Kenny, who was on the beach at the time of the big catch.

It was unclear what kind of shark it was, but there is no danger to the public, officials told CBS 3. The shark was returned to the ocean.
This is the summer of huge sharks at the Jersey Shore. A 13-year-old recently caught a 200-pound shark on Long Beach Island. Last week, a 6- to 7-foot shark was spotted off the coast of Monmouth County. The water had to be evacuated for about a half hour.
