63-Year-Old Woman Struck, Killed By Cape May Driver

Police said an "erratic driver" struck a pedestrian, a telephone pole and another vehicle on Sunday afternoon.

CAPE MAY, NJ — A 63-year-old woman was struck and killed by an "erratic driver" in Cape May on Sunday afternoon, police said.

The driver was heading over the Route 109 Bridge heading towards the City of Cape May, Cape May City police said. Police found the vehicle driving southbound on Lafayette Street, where the driver hit a 63-year-old pedestrian. The driver also hit a telephone pole and another vehicle before becoming disabled, police said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office and the Cape May City Police Department.
