Police have confirmed that an alligator was on a New Jersey street, near a highway. See the video below.

Police have confirmed that an alligator was on the loose on a New Jersey street, near a highway, on Wednesday. A video also apparently captured the alligator as it was lurking in a neighborhood.
Police said the alligator was identified at approximately 4:45 p.m. in the Devonshire section of Mullica Township.
The animal is a 3- to 4-foot-long alligator who seen on Hamburg Avenue between Route 30 and Duerer Street, police said.

Police told residents that they should keep small pets inside their house.
Residents are urged to report any sightings to police dispatch at 609-652-2037.

"We are working with our partners in the animal protection and care fields to locate the animal," police said. "Residents should be cautious letting small pets out in this area and to not approach the animal if it is located."

This is the second time this week an alligator was found on the loose in a New Jersey town.
