CAPE MAY POINT, NJ — A waterspout formed and briefly came ashore during severe storms Tuesday night, officials said.
Videos and photos captured the waterspout, which is a tornado that forms over water.
It was reported shortly after 6 p.m.
A full report on the waterspout is expected by Wednesday evening.
"Regarding the Cape May Point tornado, we plan to do a virtual survey as damage was sporadic and the tornado likely dissipated not long after it came ashore," the National Weather Service said.
