Atlantic City Electric Celebrates Nat. Lineworker Apprec. Day

Atlantic City Electric joins energy companies across the country today in celebration of its lineworkers and their continuous dedication to providing customers with the safe, reliable energy service they depend on to power their lives.

Each year on July 10, National Lineworker Appreciation Day salutes those responsible for maintaining and enhancing the local energy grid—overhead, underground and everywhere it extends. These employees brave harsh seasonal conditions as a routine part of their job and respond at any hour when emerging issues on complex energized equipment require their expert
technical skills.

“Our lineworkers represent our most important line ofdefense when extreme weather hits,” said Tyler Anthony, senior vice president& COO, Pepco Holdings, which includes Atlantic City Electric. “Each time we respond to a storm, I am moved by their unwavering dedication to our customers
and their persistent focus on safety. It is a privilege to work with such selfless and committed individuals and I am proud of the work we do in our communities—from major reliability projects to responding when our customers need us most.”

Atlantic City Electric lineworkers are responsible for maintaining more than 11,400 miles of transmission and distribution lines across southern New Jersey. Each day, crews are completing projects to modernize the local energy grid and strengthen the system against severe weather. These efforts continue to improve reliability for Atlantic City Electric’s more than 556,000 customers.

Nearly 75,000 lineworkers are employed by U.S. energy companies, which celebrate National Lineworker Appreciation Day together with AtlanticCity Electric, including the Edison Electric Institute, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), and energy companies across the nation, including Exelon sister companies BGE, ComEd, Delmarva Power, PECO, and Pepco, to honor electric field workers.
