Beach Report: Ocean Is 73 Degrees and Calm on Monday
The waves, wind and weather at dawn on the beach and Boardwalk in Ocean City.

On the beach at Brighton Place (near Fourth Street) on Monday morning, the sky is clear, the water's warm and the ocean is calm.
With temperatures predicted to hit 91 degrees on the island and higher on the mainland, the beach will be the only sane place to be today. Even then, you may want to get down to the tide line to take advantage of the cooler air.
The air is still in the morning, and a light southwest wind is in the forecast for later in the day.

We measured an ocean temperature of 73 degrees on Monday morning at Brighton Place and enjoyed a great day of clear water on Sunday afternoon at 30th Street -- though we did run into some salps on a swim Sunday evening in Longport. The harmless and small jellyfish-like critters are still hanging around in some local waters.
Surf:Â The nice waves we saw over the weekend are pretty much gone, and there are no significant wave-generating events in the near-term forecast. The kids will have some fun on the boogie boards. But surfers can expect nothing bigger than a foot or two today. Low tide is 10:34 a.m. today and high tide is 5:10 p.m.
