Beach Restoration May Not Start Until Spring
Replenishment of beaches in Ocean City, Strathmere and City Isle may not begin by originally projected time of late November.

The much-anticipated beach restoration project that was projected to start in November may not begin until next spring.
The Army Corps of Engineers granted a $57.6 million contract to the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company of Oak Brook, Illinois, last Monday. The Army Corps has not released a timetable for the project, but a Great Lakes Dredge spokesperson said the restoration will not begin until the spring, according to ocnjdaily.com.
A Great Lakes Dredge spokesperson, Mary Morrissey, said that the dredging will not begin until the second quarter of 2015, but the company does not know which city will be the first, OCNJ Daily said.
