Coast Guard Retrieves Buoy That Washed Ashore in Ocean City

A buoy that washed ashore in Ocean City over two weeks ago was removed from the island this week, the Ocean City Gazette reports.

It is on its way to Virginia for repairs. Coast Guard officials retrieved the buoy, which may have washed ashore as the result of a recent nor’easter, on Thursday, according to the report.

It washed up on the inlet beach near the Longport Bridge on Sept. 9. The Ocean City Department of Public Works moved it to the municipal parking lot last week.
