Diversity 'A Bunch Of Crap': NJ Congressional Candidate
Watch the video: A Republican told a gathering that "diversity is a bunch of crap" when discussing immigration.

A New Jersey Congressional Republican candidate is taking heat for saying the way to communicate that stricter immigration laws are necessary is to say: "Diversity is a bunch of crap.”
“The best bet for the Republican Party is for Republicans to openly say the idea of diversity is a bunch of crap,” Seth Grossman, running to represent NJ's 2nd Congressional District, said in the video which can be seen below. “This country is found on the idea that we hold these truths to be self-evident that we’re all created equal.”
Grossman is running for the seat in New Jersey's Second Congressional District. His comments came as he was seeking his party’s nomination in Salem County. Video of the comments didn’t surface until recently.

Grossman said that the Constitution says everyone should be treated equally under the law, but that diversity has become an excuse used by Democrats, Communists and Socialists to say that we’re not all created equally.
“If someone is lesser qualified, they will get a job anyway or they will get into college anyway because of the tribe, group or box they fit into,” he said. “ … They’re chopping us up into pieces and getting us to fight against each other instead of saying everyone should be judged by their own talent.”

He said that once this message is delivered, Americans in the different sub-groups, including African Americans, women, etc., will realize that stricter immigration laws will help all Americans, regardless of their background.
“When America was great, one person earned enough income to support their whole family. That’s what happened before we chopped America up into these little boxes.”
He concluded by saying Republicans make big mistakes when they nominate lesser candidates just because they fit into a box, citing the nomination of then Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno over Jack Ciattarelli in last year’s gubernatorial election.
“The idea was she’ll get more votes because we’ll show how diverse we are, and look how that turned out,” he concluded.
Grossman defeated three opponents in this month’s Republican Primary, and will face Democratic State Sen. Jeff Van Drew in the Nov. 6 general election to fill the seat that is being vacated by longtime Republican Frank LoBiondo.
Van Drew has not publicly acknowledged Grossman’s comments. He wasn't immediately available for comment on Friday.
The Second Congressional District covers all of Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Salem counties, and parts of Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Ocean counties.
