Donald Trump Names South Jersey Woman As New Campaign Manager

A South Jersey woman is Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s new campaign manager.
Trump promoted Kellyanne Conway to the role of campaign manager on Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reports. Stephen Bannon is Trump’s new campaign chief executive.
The 49-year-old Conway grew up as Kellyanne Elizabeth Fitzpatrick and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School, according to The Press of Atlantic City.

She has close ties to vice presidential candidate Mike Pence, and joined the campaign as a senior adviser earlier this year.
Despite her rapid ascent, Conway said the changes aren’t really a “shakeup.”

She has made a career of winning over women voters for conservative male candidates, according to the Washington Post.
She first met Trump in 2006, and is opposed to his insults and name-calling.
“Maybe, it’s just the mother in me,” she told the paper.
She founded The Polling Company/WomanTrend in 1995, and was a pollster for President Ronald Reagan. She’s also a former law clerk, was on the board of trustees for the Men Against Breast Cancer group, and was named the New Jersey Blueberry Princess in 1982.
