Ocean City to Host Summer Recreation Programs Open House

Ocean City’s Department of Community Services is hosting an  Open House on Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Civic Center located at 6thStreet and the Boardwalk.  Representatives from many of the summer programs will be on hand, along with City Recreation Staff, to answer questions and offer information about the numerous programs available for residents, second homeowners and visitors.  Registration for all programs begins Tuesday, May 1 at 9 a.m. In addition to receiving recreation program information, attendees will also be able to register for a Community Pass account.  “We wanted to create a fun and informative event for families to learn about the City’s great Summer Recreation Programs,” states Director of Community Services, Jim Mallon.  “Team members will be available to provide hands on customer service and information regarding our Community Pass system, which offers the convenience of registering online instead of having to wait inline.”   Programs are available for every age and interest, from toddlers to adults, and include camps for sports, playground activities, environmental, theatre, pageants and much more.  Some of the representatives participating in the Open House include The Ocean City Junior Raiders Football Team, Ocean City Sailing Foundation, Ocean City Police, Lifeguard and Fire Departments.   Admission is free.  In addition, all participants that sign up to receive their Community Pass login information on Saturday will receive a chance to win a free week of summer camp.  The Ocean City Summer Recreation Programs Brochure is available now to view and download online at www.ocnj.us/recreation. For more information, please call 609-399-6111 extension 9301or visit www.ocnj.us.
