'Ongoing Investigation' Involving FBI in Ocean City Tuesday Morning

There is no threat to public safety, and there are no active incidents related to the investigation.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The FBI is conducting an evidence recovery mission in the bay near Ocean City, city officials announced Tuesday morning.

However, there is no threat to public safety, and there are no active incidents related to the investigation, city and FBI officials said.

Agents are working along the fishing pier on the Route 52 causeway.

According to the FBI's Field Office in Newark, the underwater search and response team out of New York is assisting the Philadelphia Division in an ongoing investigation.

FBI Philadelphia Division spokeswoman Carrie Adamowski said they weren't looking for a dead body, but couldn't specify further what was being investigated.
