Filmmakers Seek Funding for Film Set in Ocean City
A husband and wife independent film duo is seeking to raise $18,000 by Sept. 5 to help launch their comedy film set in the city.

A husband and wife filmmaking team is seeking help from the community to get their independent film set in Ocean City and designed, in part, to shed a better light on the Jersey Shore, off the ground.
Alexander Vorobyev and Elisha Jachetti wrote the comedy, Variety, together. The movie is about a privately owned variety store that is successful until a mega-chain comes to town, threatening their business.
The main characters are Violet and Yuri, unlikely allies who are willing to do just about anything to save their beloved store.

One aim of Variety is to support the prosperity and goals of small businesses. A second is to help foster a more positive image of the Jersey Shore.
Vorobyev and Jachetti describe the movie as “great, clean fun, with the idea of showcasing the beauty of the beaches, streets, and towns.”

In addition, all of the primary individuals involved in this production are either living in, or are from, New Jersey.
Vorobyev and Jachetti met in 2010, while Jachetti was working in Ocean City for the summer while studying film and theater at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Vorobyev was in the country on a work and travel program. He was studying film production at Mosfilm back home.
They fell in love and four years later, after graduating from their respective institutions, they got married in Ocean City.
They were equally passionate about filmmaking, and founded His & Her Films. Variety is their first feature film together.
In order to make this film a reality, His & Her Films need to raise at least $18,000. They have started a campaign on the crowd funding website, Indiegogo, where anyone can go and pledge money.
The campaign runs through Sept. 5, but His & Her Films is trying to raise as much money as soon as possible to begin production Sept. 15.
Donations start at $1 and extend to $5,000 with the opportunity for companies to purchase product placement.
