City Council meets 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Ocean City, NJ -- In addition to a resolution concerning upgrades to the police and municipal complex, there will be a public hearing and final vote on pending legislation in Ocean City on Thursday.

City Council will consider a proposed ordinance that would apply the latest edition of the International Property Maintenance Code to historic properties in Ocean City when it meets on Thursday night, 7 p.m. at City Hall.

When introduced, the measure was approved by a 6-0 vote, with Councilman Michael DeVlieger recusing himself from the vote because he lives in the historic district.

Although he can’t vote on the issue, he said he would help spread the word about the proposed legislation to the residents, and Councilmen Bob Barr and Keith Hartzell said they would help in that process.

The district spans the First and Second wards, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
