Former Ocean City Board of Education Member's Vietnam Experience Subject of Book
Bart Russell was a member of a team of U.S. Marines discussed in Andrew Finlayson's book, according to the Ocean City Gazette.

The plight of a former Ocean City Board of Education Member and 1964 Ocean City High School graduate and his team during the Vietnam War is the subject of a recently released book, the Ocean City Gazette reports.
“Killer Kane: A Marine Long-Range Recon Team Leader in Vietnam, 1967-1968,” recounts the experiences of a team of U.S. Marines leading up to the Tet Offensive.
Bart Russell, 68, was a member of that team, according to the report. The book was written by Andrew R. Finlayson, who was his lieutenant.

He told The Gazette he doesn’t resent those who heckled soldiers upon their return from the war, and thinks most people didn’t realize the war wasn’t the soldier’ fault until the Gulf War began in 1991.
