Fractured Prune Hiring For Management Positions

Opportunity for students in business, hospitality or related majors.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Starting the day with a donut and “hot cup of Joe” is a common ritual. Fractured Prune, a local eatery, is seeking candidates interested in seasonal management positions.

Ken Jenkins and wife Joanne Jenkins are the owners of this family-owned business. Mr. Jenkins said ideal candidates enjoy a customer-focused, fast-paced environment. Applicants should also have strong leadership skills, and work well with the public. He added management jobs can potentially be paid internships for college credit. This is an excellent opportunity for students in business, hospitality, or related majors.

The company’s niche is “hot hand dipped donuts made to order.” The create-your-own donuts are particularly popular. Mr. Jenkins elaborated that their donuts have 15 different glazes and 12 toppings to pick from for personal customization. Uniquely, Fractured Prune only serves their donuts hot; this way, customers know they are fresh. Any “cold donuts” are usually donated.

Locals also favor this company’s specialty coffees. The dedicated Fractured Prune makes fresh coffee daily, made in front of the customer. When asked about their prices, Mr. Jenkins heartily stated, “We want to make a profit, but not make you feel like you’re being ripped off.”

This independent and licensed legacy store (separate from other Fractured Prunes), has been in Ocean City, NJ for about seven years. Last summer, their business grew as the Jenkins opened a new location in North Wildwood, NJ.

Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins run this business with their four children: Stephanie, Andrew, Jonathan, and Patrick. Their family environment encourages seasonal staff to return each year. Employees are often in high school and college, making this an ideal environment for students.
