SOMERS POINT, NJ — A young Ocean City girl with special needs will be taking the Disney World trip of her dreams thanks to the work of the All-Volunteer Ocean City Cape Atlantic Chapter of the Sunshine Foundation.

They recently hosted their 29th Annual Sunshine Golf Classic, sponsored by the Messner Foundation at the Greate Bay Country Club, which raised money for the trip.

Leilani Castillo Guzman, 9-years-old and diagnosed with Turner syndrome, a lifelong condition which can cause a variety of medical and developmental problems, will have her dream of spending time with her brothers and family while meeting her favorite Disney characters come true.

The golf tournament was founded in 1995 by volunteers from the All-Volunteer Ocean City Cape Atlantic Chapter of the Sunshine Foundation. The tournament continues to be organized and run by local volunteers and has sent more than 100 children and their families to Universal Studios, LEGOLAND Florida, Disney World, SeaWorld, and the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village in Central Florida over the years.

The annual golf tournament has also answered many Special Dreams: shopping sprees, computers and iPads, meeting celebrities, above ground swimming pools, family trips, cruises, adaptive tricycles and other special needs equipment. The goal for this tournament is to raise money to sponsor dreams for children served by the Sunshine Foundation.
