Hammerhead Shark At Jersey Shore Beach (Videos)
A hammerhead shark was caught and then released at a Jersey Shore beach. We have the videos.
A family fishing and swimming reeled in a hammerhead shark off the Jersey Shore this past weekend (see videos below).
Colleen Marie (no last name was given) shared the video and photos of the uniquely shaped fish on Instagram after finding the shark with her family.
Colleen said they found the fish at Sunset Beach in Cape May off Alexander Avenue.

"This young hammerhead had a nice chunk eaten out of him so something out there was biting him. Jules and I were swimming here 10 minutes before he was caught," she said.
She said Ginger, perhaps her daughter, was anxious. "She knew the poor thing was injured and wanted him to be released, which he was," Colleen said.

"After this happened, we saw a larger shark fin further out to sea circling (might have been his mama)," Colleen wrote on Instagram. "They must have been feeding when the tide was coming in."
"Bottom line: be careful swimming out there folks! Jaws could be out there next. LOL."
Some hammerhead sharks are thought to be dangerous to humans, but there have been no recorded fatalities connected to them.
