Here Are The Businesses Ocean City Residents Want In Town

We asked the question on Facebook of what business would you most want to see in town and here is what you said.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — What business would you like to see in Ocean City? We posed the question on Facebook recently and got some great, and very specific, answers.

One suggestion was not necessarily for a new business, but the poster voiced a desire to allow restaurants to serve beer and wine.

"I don't mean adding bars," the year-round resident clarified. "I think merchants would make more which would help the local economy and maybe we can get some quality restaurants here."

Others voiced their support for this suggestion, but Ocean City has historically been against it. The question went before residents in 2012, when the ballot question was defeated by a 2-1 margin.

The majority of the other comments seemed to focus on whether there should be major chains in Ocean City, such as Trader Joe's Whole Food's, Panera and Taco Bell. Many were in favor, while others were in favor of keeping the chains out of Ocean City and preserving the small town feel.

While Target and Lowe's were also mentioned among possible new businesses, as one reader commented, "Most of these suggestions have to do with food."

Below is a sample of some of the suggestions we received.
