Veteran tenor sax man Jerry Weldon joined the legendary Lionel Hampton Orchestra in 1981 and has worked with dozens of jazz luminaries over the past three plus decades, according to OCAC.
In 1990, Weldon joined Harry Connick Jr.'s newly formed big band and was seen daily as part of the "house band" on "HARRY," Connick’s daytime variety show which aired from 2016-2018.

On Nov. 18, following his Arts Center gig, Weldon will be heading out on Connick's "A Holiday Celebration" tour through Dec. 24.
Weldon can also regularly be found gigging, both as a leader and a sideman, at clubs in the New York area.
"Hear Here!", Ocean City Arts Center's listening room, is dedicated to the concept of social listening and learning, according to the Arts Center.
"The audience is normally encouraged to participate by bringing music from their personal collections to share and compare as well as discuss the music genre and theme for the event," the Arts Center said.
"A full range of musical discoveries for all ages can flourish through significant live and recorded audio experiences that individuals and other institutions cannot replicate. This program offers an alternative to the self-isolation that current technologies have fostered," the Arts Center said. "Music, a cornerstone of civilization and socialization, provides a framework for communication more universal than speech or writing. Music contributes significantly to cultural understanding and growth."
