Jeffrey Parenty Named Executive Chef at The Shore Club

With a commitment to delivering a distinctive and creative culinary experience for its members and guests The Shore Club, a private, member-owned golf club that is managed by Morningstar Golf & Hospitality, announces the hiring of Jeffrey Parenty as Executive Chef. Chef Parenty’s penchant for working with locally sourced organic and sustainable ingredients will be reflected in his dining and banquet menus that mirror the new contemporary coastal theme of the re-energized Shore Club.

Chef Parenty comes to The Shore Club from Salt Hotels where he served as Acting Executive Chef for The Asbury Hotel. From 2013-2018, Chef Parenty served as Executive Chef of Hotel Tides. Under his guidance, Hotel Tides was rated the No. 2 restaurant in Asbury Park by nj.com and named an Open Table Diner’s Choice award winner.

“We ultimately chose Jeff because of his talent, youthful enthusiasm, and desire to make The Shore Club his own,” said General Manager Kelley Nigra. “Jeff’s dishes pair perfectly with the direction we are looking to take our member dining and hospitality services, and his presentation and attention to detail will enhance the member experience.”

Chef Parenty’s exciting summer 2019 menu highlights the Jersey Shore’s abundance of fresh seafood and fowl with Champagne Leak Oysters, Crab Croquettes with Warm Tartar, and Pan Roasted Long Island Duck Breast among the new offerings. These dishes complement “elevated” clubhouse favorites such as Summer Truffle Grilled Cheese; a B.Y.O Burger featuring a blend of short rib, brisket, and sirloin; and a 16 oz. Porterhouse Pork Chop.

Inspired by his father who is a chef, Parenty knew from an early age that he wanted to immerse himself in the culinary world. He had the opportunity to work under famed Chef Andrew Gruel at the young age of 16. He gained valuable expertise from working in a variety of restaurants from pizzerias and gastro pubs to fine dining establishments.

“From the time I was very young, I always had a sophisticated palette, and in our family, food has always been a focal point,” says Chef Parenty. “We embrace eating as something special that can be shared together. I also think that food is very personal as it can bring back memories or tell a story, which is what makes it fulfilling for me. I am excited by the opportunity to provide each member and guest of The Shore Club with an unforgettable dining, catering, and social experience.”

In addition to its regular dining in the club’s newly renovated Mackissic’s restaurant, members of The Shore Club will enjoy opportunities to participate in four-course wine dinners, tastings, and casual family BBQ’s.
