Man Broke Into NJ City Hall, Stayed There Overnight: Police

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — A man was charged with burglary after authorities said he broke into City Hall in Atlantic City and stayed there overnight.

Sherif Ramadan, 39, of Atlantic City, was arrested Tuesday after police said they received a call around 8:50 a.m. about an unauthorized person at City Hall.

According to police, Ramadan entered the building the day before when it was not open to the public. Officers found him in an office on the fourth floor, and he was arrested without incident, police said.

According to authorities, Ramadan had an active warrant for his arrest.

Ramadan was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, police said. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage to determine if additional charges will be filed, police said.
