Williams Pathy, 45, drowned at a Wildwood beach last week, authorities said. It's the third Wildwood drowning in the past two weeks.

WILDWOOD, NJ — A man drowned last week in Wildwood, the third drowning there in the past two weeks, officials said.

Williams Pathy, 45, of Hillsdale, died on June 8, the City of Wildwood Police Department said. Pathy was found unconscious and unresponsive floating in the water about 100 yards from the shore shortly before 5:30 p.m., police said.

When police and the Wildwood Fire Department arrived to the scene in the area of Youngs Avenue and the beach, several people were already taking care of Pathy, police said. Two swimmers had helped take Pathy out of the water and another witness did CPR, police said. Police also said that another swimmer was rescued by a "good Samaritan."
