Jersey Shore Fight Ends In Stabbing, Police Say

The two men were arguing when one pulled out a knife and stabbed the other, Middle Township police said.

MIDDLE TWP., NJ — A Jersey Shore man was charged with attempted murder after pulling a knife and stabbing another man he was arguing with, Middle Township police said.

Police responded to a home on Reeves Street in the Whitesboro section of town just before midnight Tuesday for a reported stabbing, according to a news release.

A 43-year-old Whitesboro man had injuries to his neck and shoulder from the stabbing, police said. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for further treatment.

He and the suspect, 38-year-old Egg Harbor Township resident Andrew Enman, had been in a verbal argument that turned physical when Enman pulled a knife and stabbed the victim, police said.

Enman left the scene before police arrived, but was found during the investigation and taken into custody.

The two men knew each other and the stabbing was not random, police said. There is no danger to the public at this time.

Enman was charged with criminal attempt (murder), one count of second-degree aggravated assault, one count of third-degree aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and certain persons not to possess a weapon.

He was taken to the Cape May County Correctional Facility where he remains pending court proceedings.
