Nearly 100-Year-Old Spot And More Set To Close In Ocean City
Wards Pastry announced that it is closing after 98 years. It's not the only Ocean City business that has plans to close soon.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — As the summer season draws to an end, several Ocean City businesses have announced that they will not be reopening in the spring.
Wards Pastry, a staple of Ocean City for more than 98 years, is one business that said it is closing permanently.
"After being an Ocean City tradition for over 98 years, WARDS PASTRY will be turning off its ovens Sunday, September 18, 2022 for the last time," the beloved bakery wrote in a social media post. "The Hohman family would like to thank everyone for choosing Wards Pastry to be part of their celebrations through all of these years."

Wards is best known for its delicious cinnamon buns, cakes for special occasions and unique scrapple pie.
Another popular Ocean City restaurant is closing the same day, too. OC Surf Cafe shared that its last day is Sept. 18.

"We have had a great run, had the best staff and most wonderful customers anyone could ask for," the 10-year staple said on social media.
"We want to thank everyone who has supported us, we have enjoyed getting to know you and your families," owners Deb and Mike Carmody shared.
