Ocean City Boardwalk Subcommittee To Present Final Report

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City Council's Boardwalk Subcommittee will present its final report at a public meeting at 6 p.m. Friday, June 12, at the Ocean City Tabernacle, 550 Wesley Ave.

According to the announcement, the meeting is open to the public and those interested are encouraged to attend. The subcommittee was formed in 2025 to make recommendations for the future of the entire Boardwalk, including the property at 600 Boardwalk. That's the former Gillian's Wonderland Pier site.

The site has been the subject of controversy for some time now as local builder Eustace Mita has hoped to build a luxury hotel at the property, though so far he has not gotten approvals.

The subcommittee has members of City Council and the Planning Board along with local residents.

Their job is to make recommendations to City Council, which in turn will forward those ideas to the Planning Board.

The notice also states that no formal action will be taken at the meeting.

Anyone who cannot attend in person will still be able to watch the proceedings afterward. According to the announcement, the meeting will be filmed and video will be available the following day.
