Ocean City Boys and Girls Earn Home Openers as State Basketball Pairings Are Announced

The Red Raider girls are seeded No. 4 and play No. 13 Pinelands, while the boys get a No. 4 seed and a game against No. 13 Delsea.

The Ocean City High School boys' and girls' basketball teams will be hosting first-round playoff games later this month.

The Red Raider girls earned a No. 4 seed and will host No. 13 Pinelands in the opening round of the NJSIAA Group III South tournament on Feb. 28.

The Ocean City girls are 14-5 after defeating Seneca Saturday night for their second straight win. Pineland is 10-13 after Saturday’s 58-43 win over Keyport.

The winner of the first-round game will face the winner of No. 12 Highland vs. No. 5 Seneca. If Ocean City wins the opener, it will also host the quarterfinals game. Delsea Regional is the No. 1 seed in the bracket.

The Ocean City boys team is the No. 4 seed and will host No. 13 Delsea Regional on March 1. The Red Raiders are 11-9 and are coming off a win over Washington Township in the Olympic-Cape Shootout at St. Augustine Prep in Richland.

The winner will play the winner of No. 12 Central Regional or No. 5 Woodrow Wilson. Kingsway is the top seed in the tournament.
