Ocean City Clerk, County Board of Elections Have Extended Hours On Final Day Of Voting Registration

Oct. 18 is the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 8 general elections.

Ocean City, NJ -- The Ocean City Clerk’s Office will be open from 8:45 a.m.-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, the last day residents can register to vote before the Nov. 8 general elections.

The clerk’s office is located at 861 Asbury Avenue in Ocean City.

The Cape May County Board of Elections will be open from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. that day.

The Board of Elections is located at 10 West Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.

Residents can also register to vote by downloading the application at capemaycountyvotes.com, but all applications must be in by 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

In addition to the presidential race, four candidates are running for three open seats on the Ocean City Board of Education. They include Board of Education members Greg Whelan and Tiffany Prettyman, and challengers Dale F. Braun Jr. and Paul Jenkins.

Seven people are running for the Second Congressional District seat held by Republican Frank LoBiondo. He will be challenged by Democrat David Cole, Libertarian John Ordille and four independents, including Ocean City resident Steven Fenichel.

Two three year seats are also available on the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders, where Republicans Gerald M. Thornton and E. Marie Hayes are running against Democrats Daniel Kurkowski and John Amenhauser.
