Ocean City In Contention For 'Best Beach' Title

OCEAN CITY, NJ — It’s that time of year again. Ocean City is one of nine beaches in Cape May County and 48 beaches in the state in contention for this year’s “Favorite Beach” award presented by the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium. Voting is underway in Cape May, Atlantic, Ocean and Monmouth counties, with the four winners to be considered for the overall award in the entire state.

Ocean City won the contest last year. It was the third straight year Ocean City won the contest.

The New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium introduced its survey in 2008 to “inspire pride in and stewardship of New Jersey’s beaches while promoting a little healthy competition between New Jersey’s favorite beach towns.”

In addition to winning this contest last year, Ocean City won New Jersey Monthly's Shore Town Showdown; Coastal Living America’s inaugural Best Beach Bracket; “Best Beach” in the 2016 Philly.com Readers’ Choice Awards; and countless other contests recognizing the resort’s boardwalk, downtown, ecotourism, family destinations, women-owned businesses and more.
