Ocean City Council Adopts Special Improvement District Budget

Ocean City, NJ -- Ocean City Council adopted the $513,448 Special Improvement District budget for the year with a unanimous vote Thursday night, the Ocean City Gazette reports. The budget includes a tax levy of $183,448.

The budget is funded using revenues from a special tax applied to businesses on the boardwalk, Ninth Street and Asbury Avenue. It pays for the city’s block parties, holiday events, air shows, advertising and landscaping downtown.

Asbury Avenue generated $276,213 in revenues. The boardwalk had $219,995, and Ninth Street was responsible for $17,240 in revenue, according to the report.
