Ocean City Councilwoman Karen Bergen Holds Election Fundraiser Sunday

The "fun-raiser" is at the Flanders Hotel.

Ocean City, NJ -- Ocean City Councilwoman Karen Bergman will host a “fun-raiser” reception, meet and greet light brunch on Sunday, April 17, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Historic Flanders Hotel, 11th Street and the Boardwalk in Ocean City.

Bergman will accept donations for her election campaign at the event, the Committee to Elect Karen Bergman announced Tuesday morning. Bergman is running for election the at-large seat she was appointed to following Michael Allegretto’s resignation last year. She is running against H. Lloyd Hayes III.

A light brunch menu, featuring some of our Ocean City Boardwalk favorites will be served. Ocean City residents are invited and encouraged to bring family and friends, Bergman said.

“I am looking forward to seeing many of our friends and neighbors and meeting new ones,” Bergman said. “I believe that we need to have open lines of communication between the Council and the people, and that’s one of the features of this event. I have an open-door and open cell phone number policy. Anyone can reach me at any time with their questions or concerns. We live in the best town in America, and it can become even better if our residents, seasonal visitors and government representatives communicate.”

Those wishing to donate to Bergman’s campaign are reminded that all contributions are tax deductible. Checks should be made payable to The Committee to Elect Karen Bergman Council at Large.

“This is a critical election for the town as we move forward and make some major decisions,” Bergman said. “I bring the experience, accessibility and woman’s perspective the Council and the people deserve.”

Bergman, a working single mom and grandmother, says she is campaigning with essentially no funding. Any funds collected will go directly to advertising and defraying campaign expenses, she said.
