Ocean City Field Hockey Team in South Jersey Final After 13-0 Win Over Central

The Red Raiders face top-seeded Hammonton in the final.

The Ocean City High School field hockey team is one win away from a South Jersey Group III title.

With the numbers the Red Raiders have been producing in this year’s playoff, they will be difficult to stop.

Second-seeded Ocean City (20-1) enters the South Jersey Group III final at No. 1 Hammonton (21-0) after outscoring its first two opponents, 21-0, according to nj.com.

This includes a 13-0 win over No. 3 Central Regional in the semifinals.

Rialee Allen led the way with five goals against Central, bringing her playoff total to seven goals and two assists.

Jordan Allegretto and Kelly Hanna each had two goals against Central. Lauren McNally had a goal and three assists.

Maria Farnan, Julia Herrington and Alexis Paone each had a goal and an assist, and Shannon O’Reilly provided an assist.

The win followed Ocean City’s 8-0 win over Mainland.

Hammonton is undefeated this season and outscored its first two playoff opponents 16-1. Ocean City’s only defeat this season came at the hands of traditional power Eastern Regional (22-0).
