Ocean City Football Team Drops Rivalry Game To Pleasantville
Ocean City struck first, but Pleasantville went home with the 20-7 win.

OCEAN CITY, NJ - The Pleasantville High School football team hoisted the Mike Slaveski-Bob Thomas Memorial Award for the first time since 2013 Thursday morning. That’s the prize that goes to the winner of the annual football game between Ocean City and Pleasantville.
Pleasantville defeated Ocean City, 20-7, for the first time in the annual Turkey Day rivalry since 2013, according to nj.com. Ocean City still leads the all-time series 50-42-7.
The Red Raiders struck first, with Ian Aungst capping a 60-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown run on their first possession of the game, according to The Press of Atlantic City.
Mohamed Toure put Pleasantville on the board with a 2-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, and Sahmir Jones connected with Elijah Grove on a 2-point conversion. The Greyhounds took an 8-7 lead and never looked back.

Ocean City finished the season with a record of 4-6 after winning their first three games. Ocean City made the playoffs, but fell to Highland, 28-14, in the first round.
For the first time, teams that lost their first round playoff game also played a consolation game, and the Red Raiders capitalized. In that game, Ocean City defeated Washington Township, 35-0,according to nj.com. Aungst threw three touchdown passes to Brandon Lashley, who also returned an interception 105 yards.
