Ocean City Girls Swim Team Captures Third Straight Sectional Title
The Red Raiders advanced to the state championship tournament with a win over Moorestown.

The Ocean City High School girls swim team is at the top of the mountain once again.
The top-seeded Red Raiders defeated No. 2 Moorestown, 97-73, to capture the NJSIAA South Jersey Group B championship at Gloucester Tech in Sewell on Thursday, according to nj.com.
Amanda Nunan led the charge with victories in four events. She won the 100 freestyle in 52.39, and the 200 freestyle in 1:51.45. She was also part of the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:40.61) and 400 freestyle relay (3:49.26).

Moorestown’s Andrea Fong won the 200 intermediate (2:09.17). She also tied Ocean City’s Aly Chain in the 100 butterfly, as they both finished in 1:00.10.
Moorestown kept the meet close with a couple of key finishes, according to the Burlington County Times.

The Quakers had swimmers finish second and third in the 200 medley relay, and second and fourth in the 200 freestyle. Freshman Holly Robinson finished second in the 100 freestyle, splitting the Red Raiders’ top two swimmers, Nunan and Ryann Styer, according to the report.
Ocean City improved to 11-0, and advanced to the Group B state championship tournament. The Red Raiders were in the South Jersey final following a 104-66 win over No. 4 Clearview in the semifinals.
Moorestown finished the season with a record of 7-3, and can now look forward to the individual state championships. The Quakers were in the South Jersey final following a 99-71 win over No. 3 Manasquan in the semifinals.
