Ocean City High School Maintains High Graduation Rate
Ocean City continues to graduate about 95 percent or more of its students, doing so for at least the last four years, according to NJDOE.

The graduation rate at Ocean City High School continues to hover around 95 percent, a number it has met or exceeded each of the last four years, according to statistics released by the New Jersey Department of Education on Wednesday.
New Jersey uses a federally mandated methodology designed to provide a complete accounting of graduation rates by tracking cohorts of students over four years, starting from the time they enter the ninth grade.
Ocean City’s overall graduation rate was nearly identical in 2013 and 2014. The school graduated 95.30 percent of its students in 2014, and 95.60 percent of its students the previous year.

A total of 304 of the school’s 319 students graduated in 2014.
In 2012, the school saw a graduation rate of nearly 100 percent, 99.42 percent. In 2011, it graduated 96.83 percent of its students.

The NJDOE only provided numbers going back the previous four years.
Ocean City remains above the state average, which checked in at 88.6 percent in 2014, up from 87.5 percent in 2013. It was the second consecutive year in which high school graduation statewide grew by a full percentage point.
Below is a further look at how the district compares with the rest of the state in a few areas:
· 93.5% of white students graduated in 2014, an increase from 93.1% in 2013. In Ocean City, 95.59 percent graduated, translating to 282 students.
· Economically disadvantaged students graduated at a rate of 79.6% in 2014, an increase of 2.5 percent from last year when it was 77.1%. In Ocean City, 94 percent graduated. This translates to 47 students.
· 71.1% of Limited English Proficient (LEP) students graduated in 2014, an increase from 70.5% in 2013. No numbers were provided for Ocean City.
· 76.6% of students with disabilities graduated in 2014, an increase from 75.9% in 2013. In Ocean City, this number was 85.37 percent, with 35 students graduating.
