OCEAN CITY, N.J. — Ocean City will host the 11th Annual Walk To End Lupus Now South Jersey. The walk takes place Sunday, May 19, beginning at 6th Street and Boardwalk.

Check-in begins at 9 a.m., and the walk starts at 10 a.m., rain or shine. The walk supports the Lupus Foundation of America, supporting the organization's mission to improve the quality of life for people affected by lupus, while advancing science and medicine to help find a cure.

"Because of the lack of awareness and understanding of lupus, diagnosis and appropriate treatment are often delayed," the organization says. "Ninety percent of all affected are women, and women of color are affected 3-4 times more often."
