Ocean City Police Seize Loaded Handgun From Pleasantville Man Near Boardwalk

A Pleasantville man wanted on several warrants out of Atlantic County was charged with possession of a loaded handgun near the boardwalk Wednesday night.
Stanford Walker IV, 23, was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Ocean City Police announced Thursday afternoon.
Ocean City’s Boardwalk Officers came into contact with Walker on the 800 block of 8th Street near the boardwalk Wednesday night at about 8 p.m. Walker was carrying an open alcoholic container.

During the investigation, officers learned that Walker was wanted on active warrants from Egg Harbor Township Municipal Court, Plainsboro Municipal Court and Absecon Municipal Court. Bail total was in the amount of $1,284.00 cash for all warrants.
Walker was arrested by the officers for processing on the arrest warrants and issuance of a City Ordinance alcohol violation summons.

During the search of Walker following the arrest, police discovered a loaded .380 caliber handgun tucked into the waistband of his pants. Police secured the gun without further incident.
Walker was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility on $75,000 full cash bail.
Walker was the victim of a hit-and-run accident in Galloway Township in July of 2011. The accident left him in critical condition, but he was able to recover. For more, visit pressofatlanticcity.com.
