Ocean City School Sending Valentines To The Troops
For the 13th year, the Ocean City Public School District is sending its love to American soldiers with Valentines for the Troops.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — American troops overseas are feeling the love from friends and family back home, thanks in part to the Ocean City Public School District.
For the thirteenth year, the Ocean City Public School District is sending its love to American soldiers with Lite Rock 96.9 radio’s Valentines for the Troops, the district announced this week. Lite Rock teams up with American Recreation Military Services (ARMS) to send valentines to American troops anywhere around the world where New Jersey military personnel are presently deployed.
Classes and organizations throughout the Ocean City School District have been working hard and making tons of valentines, the school district said this week. Currently, the district has a total 1,300 cards. The all-time record is 1,900 cards.

In past years, some of these special valentines have ended up with several Ocean City High School alumni while they were stationed in Afghanistan.
“The Ocean City School District has been donating valentines for our troops for the past thirteen years and each year the participation gets better,” Ocean City Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kathleen Taylor said. “Our students rally together to provide a caring message along with a small slice of home to those fighting overseas. It is important for our district as a whole to remind our military that they are appreciated each day and that we wish them a safe return home.”
