Ocean City School Superintendent Takes New Job In PA
A year after Matthew Friedman was appointed to the Ocean City School District, the search will begin again for a new superintendent.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Less than a year after his appointment, the Ocean City School District will again begin the search for a new leader as Superintendent Matthew Friedman is leaving to take a job in Pennsylvania.
Friedman will take over as superintendent of the Quakertown Community School District on July 1, replacing their current superintendent who is retiring. This is one year exactly from when Friedman started in Ocean City.
“I am honored to serve as the new Superintendent of the Quakertown Community School District. I look forward to partnering with our students, parents and families, staff, school board and our community in accomplishing the District’s mission and vision,” Friedman said in a news release for Quakertown schools.

On behalf of the Ocean City BOE, I extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Friedman for his exceptional service to the district," Ocean City Board of Education President Chris Halliday said in a letter earlier this week. "I also want to assure each of you that he and our Board are committed to work together to welcome a visionary and passionate educational leader to Ocean City Schools as soon as possible."
Additional details about the superintendent search in Ocean City will be available soon, Halliday said.
